Chartered in 1955, Los Alamos Schools Credit Union has been providing high-quality, low-cost financial services to the educational community in New Mexico 's Los Alamos County. Today, Los Alamos Schools Credit Union is a $17 million financial institution serving nearly 1,700 members.
As a financial cooperative, Los Alamos Schools Credit Union provides financial products and services to members featuring more attractive rates and no or lower fees than generally offered at other financial institutions. Our cooperative structure distinguishes the Credit Union from other for-profit financial institutions.
Los Alamos Schools Credit Union is governed by a Board of Directors that establishes and reviews policy. These volunteer Directors are Credit Union members who are elected by the membership. As a member of the Credit Union, you are entitled to vote, and even run, for Board of Director or Supervisory Committee positions.
Because the Credit Union is member-owned and Los Alamos County is our home, Los Alamos Schools Credit Union is actively involved in school and community related projects.
